Skin, Season by Season

We tend to treat our skincare as a fixed regime, then wonder why it works beautifully in October and betrays us in July. Skin is a living organ responding to light, temperature and humidity — and the most effective routines move with the calendar rather than against it.
Winter asks for repair: richer moisturisers, gentler exfoliation, and a little more patience with a barrier under siege from central heating. Summer asks for restraint and protection, with lighter textures and an almost religious relationship with sunscreen.
The best routine is not the most powerful one. It is the one that moves with the year.

A gentle seasonal rhythm
Push your most active treatments — peels, stronger retinoids, resurfacing — toward the darker months, when sun exposure is lower and the skin has time to recover. Reserve the brighter months for maintenance, hydration and diligent protection.
None of this needs to be complicated. Two or three thoughtful adjustments a year will do more than a cupboard full of products bought in a panic. Consistency, tuned to the season, is the whole game.
